Book boxes: functional analysis of small containers.

Abstract
This article presents a study about a number of small size wooden containers that have homogeneous features. Their function, original denomination, chronology and origins were determined in order to define a particular typology. The research was based on the structural and functional analysis, by the comparison with analogous objects and through the data extracted from primary and iconographical sources.
