Abstract

This article addresses the origins of glass manufacturing in Mexico, as well as the implementation of the blown glass technique, especially in Puebla and Mexico City. The production systems of this craft are also mentioned, in addition to the first workshops and places where the first factories were installed, the use of raw materials, ovens and tools to melt and process the glassy material. In short, the location of production facilities and specific marketing sites. Another fundamental topic is the manufacture of flat glass and its use in stained glass. The union organization, the expansion and development of the glass industry stand out: 19th and 20th centuries and the lineages of glassmakers.
