1. Approach and Scope
Además de (ISSN 2444-121X) is a digital journal of decorative arts and design, of international scope, published by the Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas (MNAD: National Museum of Decorative Arts) and the Asociación de Amigos del MNAD (Association of Friends of the MNAD).
Its purpose is to disseminate research and studies on decorative arts and design, through unpublished academic articles. It aims to be a forum for reflecting on the cultural role of the decorative arts and design, past and present, through interpretative and contextual perspectives, developing an understanding that enables us to interpret our culture in the global context, in all periods.
Founded in 2015, it is published yearly, and is intended for researchers, designers, businesspeople, architecture professionals, collectors, teachers, students, cultural administrators, museologists, and lovers of decorative arts and design.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content free of charge, based on the principle that offering the public free access to research helps to achieve greater global knowledge exchange.
4. Publication Policies
Además de is an online journal under OAI protocols which is included in important academic publication databases such as Dialnet and Latindex.
The journal has a fixed annual publication schedule.
On publication of their work authors agree to the reproduction, transformation, distribution and public communication of the material deposited in these media, and the subsequent use of that work under the terms of a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International licence.
This journal makes no charge to authors for presenting or processing their articles.

Authors who publish in this journal accept the following conditions:
• Authors retain copyright and assign the right of first publication to the journal, with the article registered under the Creative Commons attribution licence, which allows third parties to use the published material provided that they mention the authorship of the work and its publication in this journal.
• Authors may make other independent and additional contractual agreements for non-exclusive distribution of the preprint (the version submitted to the editor), the postprint (the version after peer review) and the version of the article published in this journal (e.g., to include it in an institutional repository or publish it in a book), provided that they clearly indicate that the work was first published in this journal.
